The 14th FUYUN-MMU Masters 2019 Badminton Open Championships in charge by New Jin Sheong, Ng Xiao Jun and Koon Kok Feng, organize by MMU Badminton Club.The brand sponsor is ''PROTECH'' and main sponsor is ''FUYUN FRUITS TRADING SDN BHD''.
The MMU Master's main objectives is to promote the game domestically in a nationwide scale and also bring up the good name of MMU Melaka Badminton Club as well as the university. This tournament was formed with intentions for the students of MMU to collaborate with the public. Furthermore, this tournament also allows MMU students to share their views on both game and skill wise, and also not forgetting to make the badminton match a memorable experience to share with.
MMU Masters was the very first badminton open tournament organized by MMU Badminton Club. It was first established in the year 2006. The tournament had attracted a total of more than 300 participants. Beside that, the men dobles category became a recore-breaking event with themost men doubles pair participation in Melaka, with a flattering number of 98 pairs.
Due to the overwhelming response by the public, the event was then organized the following year (MMU Masters 2007). In MMU Awards 2007, MMU Masters 2007 took away the ''Best Tournament'' award, beating other major events organized by other clubs. Once again, The Men's Doubles category created another record-breaking event in Malacca, with the total number of 111 pairs. Other than that, the Men's Singles category also broke the record of having the most number of players, with an outstanding sum of 77 individuals.
For the year 2008, MMU Masters 2008 for the third time organized and directed by Ong Dun Siang. Since the response from sponsors, participants and supporters was extreme, open category for state and national players was added to the event. An outstanding performance by four legendary badminton players was held during the event to bring in the crowds. Besides that, the cash and prize for the winner has been raised to more then RM30,000. More than 550 players from all over the country have entered MMU Masters 2008. Thus, MMU Masters 2008 broke Melaka record for Men's Single of 116 participants and men's doubles of 136 participants. With all the achievements above, there is no doubt when MMU Masters 2008 won ''Best Tournament'' for the second year. In MMU Masters 2009, once again, 4 legendary players have been invited to play an exhibition match during the event.
In 2012, MMU Masters has break Melaka's record for most participants in the Men's Singles category and Men's Doubles Category with the number of 148 participants and 151 pairs respectively. For the year 2013, MMU Masters has broken the Malaysia Book Record for ''Largest Hibiscus Made by Shuttlecocks'' wih 22110 shuttlecocks. For the year of 2015, MMU Masters has celebrated 10th Anniversary and 24000 shuttlecocks have been used to arrange 10th Anniversary logo. FUYUN-MMU Masters 2016 has used 19000 shuttlecocks to arrange a portrait of ''Lee Chong Wei''. For FUYUN-MMU Masters 2017 in charge by Yong Xiao Jia, Mok Zhi Xing and Kong Wai Keat, has arranged the flag of Melaka. For the last year, FUYUN-MMU Masters 2018 in charge by Tai Huey Jian, Careen Tee Ke Xin and Chuah Boon Han, used shuttlecocks to arrange the brand sponsor and main sponsor which is ''PROTECH'' and ''FUYUN FRUITS TRADING SDN BHD''. FUYUN-MMU Masters 2018 also won ''BUZZ Awards'' which is the biggest awards in Buzz Popular Choice Awards (BPCA).
Reviewing the badminton events throughout the years, it is prove that badminton is a sport that is most welcomed and well-enjoyed by people from all walks of life. Hence, MMU Melaka Badminton Club would like to seize this opportunity once again to organize the event as a platform for the people of this state/country to showcase and sharpen their talents in a nationwide scale.
